STS110-E-5341 (11 April 2002) --- Astronaut Rex J. Walheim, STS-110 mission specialist, anchored to the mobile foot restraint at the end of the International Space Station’s (ISS) Canadarm2, works in tandem with astronaut Steven L. Smith (out of frame), mission specialist, during the first scheduled session of extravehicular activity (EVA). Along with setting up tools outside, the bulk of their time during the space walk was spent making initial power and data connections between the station and the S0 (S-Zero) truss. They also bolted the two forward struts that will permanently hold the truss into place. The image was taken with a digital still camera.
