Deutsches Museum, IYL 2015

The International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies, 2015 (IYL 2015) is a United Nations observance that aims to raise awareness of the achievements of light science and its applications, and its importance to humankind.

The Deutsches Museum in Munich launched the opening of the event in Germany by illuminating the facade of the museum in different colors, one weekend long. Color combinations changed in cycles of about 30 seconds. Realization by OSRAM.

There was quite a crowd of photographers and visitors gathered all around the area which made it challenging to catch a nice spot. Every now and then there was also some drizzling which was enough to make for spots on the lens and forced to keep an umbrella above the camera.
