It's Arrived ...
It's arrived ... Friday that is!
This white-faced ibis seems quite excited and animated as it flies in to join its other ibis friend at the lake. To me, photographing ibis is quite challenging because they usually all mill together ... overlapping each other's bodies in the process ... and hardly ever are looking the right way when they do. Loved it when this guy came in and planted itself in an open real estate of the lake, so that I could get it whole. The face forward position, head up, was appreciated as well. The wings up and out, with all of that feather detail, well, that was a bonus. Seems like forever since I've seen a white ibis (from my Florida days). Once in a while we get a random glossy ibis, but rather we get these white-faced ibis, which look pretty close to an untrained eye (like mine LOL).
