Time to Reflect and Head For Home - Adelaide Airport - SA - Australia - 20160825 @05:54
After a successful and productive week in Adelaide, it was time to catch the plane that would take me back to Canberra. I was going well with the early morning logistics of getting to the airport, checking in my bag, getting a boarding pass, and going through security, so there was time for me to sit down and have a cup of coffee before boarding the plane.
There is an excellent range of cafe options gateside at Adelaide Airport. Eying off the comfortable-looking padded bench seats, I chose "Cocolat" on this morning. When making my selection, I had noted that Cocolat was hosting several flight crews - these people are an indicator of a solid performer since they have the opportunity to try each eatery at each airport and will steer towards the better ones. When it came to my own experience, I was impressed that there was table service (yes, you read this correctly) and my coffee was served in a crockery cup and saucer rather than a take-away cup. It tastes so much better when served this way!

(And now for some wisdom for the ages from John Howard, former Australian Prime Minister, with a surprising relevance to air travel ...)
When Howard entered Parliament in 1974, he resolved ...
* never to miss meals, and
* never to be late for flights.
He confided later - I couldn't think of two things more likely to give you ulcers. Throughout his political career, he kept this regimen and added other things to it :
* the daily walk,
* not snacking between meals, and
* being able to refresh with a quick catnap during long days.
