Satpura Express
The most extensive narrow gauge network in India was the Satpura lines of the South Eastern Railway, which in 1980 totalled over 1000kms of 2'6" gauge track. Much of the network has since been converted, or is planned for conversion, to broad gauge. On 26 March 1983, ZE class 2-8-2 no.32 (Krauss Maffei (17934/1954) is en route with the 'Satpura Express' between Jabalpur and Nainpur.
