Tribute to Thursdays - Hotel de la Montagne

Thursdays - Holel de la Montagne will soon be no more. By the end of this summer it will be closed and turned into condos and a larger retail center. For many of us it is a landmark we grew up with. It will be missed .

 

I will forever remember it for countless great nights with good friends. Many summer days on the roof top with pitchers of sangria and great company. So many sunny afternoons for some lunch and bird watching on the terrasse overlooking Crescent street. Staying overnight in the Hotel just because you could, thank you Tina. Running tabs till the cows came home, thank you Jose, Val, and Mary who gave free pour meaning. Hooking up with Team Benetton/ Renault every summer in the piano bar, thank you Rod, Pat and Tonie for some of the best times ever. Who can ever forget celebrating in 1986 and 1993, the Montreal Canadians winning the Stanley Cup, wow! A big thank you to friends like Cesar, Peruz, John, Carmine and Frank for making it worth frequenting, even when it was beyond capacity crowds. Thank you Maria for some of the greatest nights out whatever the event...birthdays, new years, f1, etc...

 

Thank you Bernard, for making Thursday's a very special place for so many of us.
