An Evening With John Brennan
On Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018, the LBJ Presidential Library presented a conversation with former CIA Director John Brennan and Mark K. Updegrove, president and CEO of the LBJ Foundation. The evening was co-hosted by the Intelligence Studies Project at The University of Texas at Austin.
Brennan is senior advisor to the Intelligence Studies Project and a Distinguished Non-Resident Scholar at UT Austin. Brennan served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency from March 2013 until January 2017, capping a nearly 30-year career at the agency. As director, he managed intelligence collection, analysis, covert action, counterintelligence, and liaison relationships with foreign intelligence services. He earned a master’s degree in government with a concentration in Middle Eastern studies from UT Austin in 1980.
