Arrival on Fraser Island

So we made it onto Fraser Island ok, and straight away I had to stop again to take some pictures. It was right on sunset. It was almost low tide, so the beach was lovely and wide and smooth.

We could zoom along at 80 (the beach speed limit) once I got the hang of what I was doing. You need to keep an eye out for creeks as you go along, as there are lots of fresh water rivulets coming down to the ocean, and they cut away at the beach and make mimi cliffs that are dangerous to go over at speed.

It was dark long before we got to our campsite too, and driving along the beach at night is rather weird.

We saw 2 dingoes as we went, but it was too dark for photos. There are loads of dingoes on Fraser, and there are warnings everywhere to be careful of them
