The Ice Castles (2025)
The maze of large ice formations are the invention of artist Brent Christensen, who developed this technique using no supporting structure--each castle is made entirely of ice (over 4 million gallons of water). The Minnesota installation features 50, LED-lit towers which reach as high as 30 feet. Ice Castles have since been featured in several cities around the US. The original installation was in Bloomington (2012) but was most recently at the MN State Fairgrounds (2025).
