Canon Handheld Macro Setup
The Canon EOS 80D (as much chosen for its fully flexible viewing screen, a feature I found indispensable on my old Sony DSC-R1, as it being a proven all-rounder) is teamed with the EF 100mm Macro IS USM lens and Canon's MT-24EX Macro Twin Lite flash. I was never going to be convinced by the default lens mounting for these flashheads, so from the outset intended to custom-mount them on individual bracket arms. The flashheads are double diffused with Sto-fen Omnibounce diffusers within the softboxes (see inset).
For night work, I have been able to rollover my old LED ring light (same filter thread size and conveniently able to attach the battery pack to my flash arms) for composition and focus illumination (lower right image).
This configuration will no doubt evolve.....
