Giant False Leaf Katydid (Pseudophyllus titan, Pseudophyllinae, Tettigoniidae)

The Giant Leaf Katydid is China's largest Orthopteran. This fine fellow was not the keenest model and wrapped its jaws around my finger on a couple of occasions but didn't go through with it - probably felt me tense up. Normally I wouldn't handle my subjects but when I do it is usually to demonstrate size using my hand as a comparison. Basically a gentle giant, as are the nymphs (see comments for image).

It is nocturnal and feeds on Ficus bark and leaves.
