Daffodil Day Breakfast 2014
The Chartered Accountants Cork Society held their tenth Annual Daffodil Day Breakfast in aid of Irish Cancer Society Nursing Services on Friday 28th March at the Clarion Hotel Cork.
The long-standing event drew Chartered Accountants from all over the city including Chartered Accountants Ireland Council President, Mr. Brendan Lenihan. Kathleen O’Meara of the Irish Cancer Society also attended and expressed her gratitude to the Cork Society for their work on such a successful event.
Owen Hickey, Chairman of the Cork Society says, “We are extremely proud and honoured to be associated with the Irish Cancer Society on what is an extremely important day nationally for their fundraising efforts.”
While proceeds for 2014 are still being counted, last year this event was one of the biggest fundraisers for the Charity in Cork raising almost €10,000 for the Irish Cancer Society.
Mr. Terence O’Rourke, Chair of Enterprise Ireland spoke at the Breakfast where he provided his views on overcoming the recent economic challenges.
The Cork Society, as part of Chartered Accountants Ireland, undertakes many CSR activities through the year. As well as the Daffodil Day Breakfast, other initiatives include an Annual Charity Day Fun Run on April 11th in partnership with the COPE Foundation.
