New Chairman for Cork Society

At the AGM on Tuesday 5th June, Owen Hickey of Hickey & Associates became the new Chairman of the Cork Society of Chartered Accountants Ireland taking over the role from Anthony Reidy of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Mr. Hickey expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, commenting that “while it would be a challenging role”, he looked forward to “working with the committee and the members within the society”.

Mr. Hickey completed a Master’s Degree in UCC and did his initial training in Deloitte and Touche. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2006, Owen joined Hickey and Associates, becoming partner in 2011.

Mr. Reidy having served as Chairman for the last number of years thanked the society for all their help during his tenure and welcomed Owen into the position of Chairman.
