Mr. James C. Abney
Director, IMCOM G9, Mr. Abney was appointed to the Senior Executive Service on February 28, 2010. His duties include assisting the Commanding General in the daily oversight of the $3.2B Army Family and MWR program. Mr. Abney provides direct supervision and oversight to five program directors (Family Programs; Child, Youth & School Services; Soldier and Community Recreation; Marketing; and the FMWR Academy). Previous to this assignment, Mr. Abney served as a Highly Qualified Expert (HQE) with duties as the Special Assistant to the FMWRC Commanding General responsible for developing the means for the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) and FMWRC to synchronize and integrate the effects of emerging operational, strategic communications (through marketing), and training requirements associated with the Soldier Family Action Plan.
