Botanische Tuinen Jochumhof

The Botanical Gardens Jochumhof, nestled in the quaint monastery village of Steyl, is a hidden gem that offers a serene escape into nature. With its collection of unique, ancient, and exotic plants, shrubs, and trees, some dating back to 1799, it's a place where history and botany intertwine. The gardens were named after Father Jochum, who initiated this green haven for educational purposes. Today, it has flourished into a full-fledged botanical garden, complete with a Mediterranean greenhouse and a fragrance garden, all maintained by dedicated volunteers. Visitors can also enjoy the historical ambiance of the Grand Café, which features furnishings from a 19th-century grocer's shop, chairs from an old Limburg pub, and tables from India, offering a perfect blend of culture and relaxation.
