Flying Steamer Duck Quetro Volador Tachyeres patachonicus

Several pairs were seen off the Hotel Tolkeyen in the Canal Beagle in mid-March. They were also seen in upland lakes on the Strobel Plateau, Patagonia. Note the darker billed female and the wings extending to rump. They are also less heavily built than Flightless Steamer Ducks. These images were taken near Ushuaia in the Canal Beagle.
