Wigan's Big Parade

A big smile.

Greater Manchester Police were on hand to ensure the safety and security of all when around 25,000 Wigan Athletic fans took to the street on Monday 20 May 2013 to celebrate their historic FA Cup win over neighbours Manchester City.

Superintendent Andrea Jones said: "The victory parade was a fun family event, and a wonderful moment in the town's history.

"We worked closely with Wigan Council and other partners to ensure it passed off peacefully and will be remembered for all the right reasons.

"It is also testament to Wigan supporters that we had 25,000 people celebrating on the streets and we weren't called on to make one arrest."

Those who attended the event are encouraged to share their experiences with @WiganCouncil, @GMPWigan and @LaticsOfficial using the hash tag #BelieveInWigan
