I like the Samsung film point & shoots, I own several. The are great bargains, I think.

It's been a pretty good camera for me. I think it retailed for $300 in its prime and I got it from a bargain bin at Ritz Camera around 2005 for about $20 I think. I was impressed with the metal front body and the Schneider lens. Once I got used to all the lights and whatnot, I can use it quite successfully...I had a hard time at first because I didn't pay attention to them ;-)

I have a Samsung Maxima 1350Ti that looks very similar to your Evoca, it produces excellent results. I also have an Evoca 70s that I have yet to put a roll through. I think the Evoca/Vega line are the same as the Rollei Pregos.

My favorite Samsung is the magnificent beast below, the ECX1 Panorama. It is the only P&S that I own that allows for manual focus, but it is not exactly a compact:, it is bigger than most slrs.

Wow, that is a "beast" of a point and shoot. And it's just odd enough to intrigue me...eBay, here I come ;-)

If you can't find one on the bay, I have two of them, and will make you a good deal on the "spare".
