About a week after pitching, C&P's gravity is about 1.011 with the temp. & offset adjustment. #homebrewing
As an aside, I have this weird feeling that something is amiss with my final gravity readings. If memory serves, it seems like every one of them is sighted at about 1.015 and I do my misc. adjustments for temp calibration and the offset error. I'm wondering if either (1) my fermentations are not going well and they're stalling too high or (2) if I'm getting some kind of interference from the wine thief.
UPDATE: fast-forward about a week and I sighted the hydrometer at 1.015 again (adjusted down to 1.011) -- but I've still got that nagging feeling that something is wrong. That being said, looking over the last few months worth of brewing numbers... there is a range of F.G.s, so it's more likely that I'm just fussing over nothing. That said, a "nicer" hydrometer kit might be a good investment. And/or doubling down on my refractometer.
