The Eldorado, Central Park, Manhattan

The El Dorado is one of the Upper West Sides most beloved iconic architectural landmarks. Built in 1931 this is one of Emery Roth’s most celebrated achievements. The building still maintains the grandeur of its era with its glorious and impeccably maintained deco lobby and elevators. This Art Deco structure was erected with 31-stories and 208 units consisting of grand and spacious two to four bedroom residences (many apartments have been combined since to create larger and even more palatial homes). More recent apartment owners have been Alec Baldwin, Faye Dunaway, Moby, Garrison Keillor, Tuesday Weld, and Michael J. Fox. Author Sinclair Lewis chose a tower apartment in this building because it had views which encompassed all the bridges of the city at that time. Most of the apartments have sweeping vistas of Central Park, The Reservoir, and the Manhattan skyline.
