James Cantlie
Sir James Cantlie (1851 – 1926) was a Scottish physician. In 1888 he took up a position as Dean of the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese where the future Chinese leader Sun Yat Sen was one of his pupils.
In 1896 Sun was kidnapped and sought help from Cantlie. Cantlie led a campaign which not only succeeded in releasing him, but left Sun a hero in Britain.
