Piazza La Torre, Anacapri - road sign

A walk down the streets of Anacapri.

On Via G. Orlandi in Anacapri.

This is La Cassa Rossa (or in English The Red House).

The Red House, along Via G. Orlandi, built at the end of the 19th century by the American, John Cly McKowen. Part of the structure dates back to the 14th century and was known as the Aragonese Tower, a place of refuge for the local women during the incursions. Today it is the site of artistic and cultural events.

From a Capri book I bought on the island.

A sign at the site says it was built between 1876 and 1899.

There is a square here called Piazza La Torre, and a road called Via Timpone.
