Edgbaston - Cricket ground development

Been waiting ages to get shots of the new stands going up at Edgbaston.

Waited for one the season to end, and two for the stands to look more or less complete (they are not finished yet).

This is the home of Warwickshire County Cricket Club in Edgbaston at their cricket stadium known as Edgbaston (named after the area it is in). It is in Edgbaston, Birmingham. It is also known as Edgbaston Stadium.

As well as being used by Warwickshire CCC, it is also used for Test matches and One Day Internationals.

The ground is on Edgbaston Road in Birmingham (which you can mostly see from here).

The original 12-acre site was leased by Lord Calthorpe, to the Warwickshire Club and the first match was played in the summer of 1886 against an MCC team. The ground capacity is 21,000. Test status was gained in 1902.

You can see a big crane on site.

A big blue section will go here in the future.

The snow had mostly melted leaving ice behind. Was lucky that I didn't slip over. If I did loose my balance I avoiding falling over. Was above freezing and was sunny.
