Tour de la Liberte, Le Mont Saint-Michel 2018

Visiting Le Mont Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The island has held strategic fortifications since ancient times and since the 8th century AD has been the home of the monastery from which it draws its name (according to legend, the archangel Michael appeared in 708AD to Aubert of Avranches, the bishop of Avranches, and instructed him to build a church on the rocky island). Today the island has a population of just 44 but is visited by over three million people a year! This is the ruined Tour de la Liberte.
