Tintagel Old Post Office, Cornwall

Love the 'tired' appearance of Tintagel's Old Post Office – a Grade I listed 14th-century Cornish medieval hall house.

The building dates back to around 1380 and originally had a thatched roof.

The present slate roof was added in the 16th century along with a fireplace and chimney.

The reference to it being known to as the 'Old Post Office' goes back to the 19th century, when one of the rooms in the house was used as a 'letter receiving station' – the fore-runner of a village post office.

The property is in the care of the National Trust.
