The Halloween Tree - Disneyland (Explore)
II don't have a fireworks shot today, so how about a oak tree with pumpkins hanging in it and sparkly orange lights in Frontierland...
This past Monday we attended a Annual Passport special event at Disneyland that featured a special nighttime showing of Mickey's Soundsational Parade and had Tomorrowland and Fantasyland open to the attendees for 4 hours after closing. It was a nice evening with very few people in the Park...
Unfortunately, Frontierland was closed for the event, which meant that getting a photo of the now iconic Halloween Tree was going to be difficult as I would need to photograph it in regular hours before the event. The only problem was that this is soooooo popular you can't get near it for the stacks of people crowding around. Undaunted, I persevered with my tripod setup in a corner waiting for a clean shot...and waiting...and waiting...and waiting...
20 minutes later I had managed to gather several different brackets and exposures of the scene. In post processing I had to mask-in several shots to completely erase the random guests posing with their flash photography and the flow of guests walking past.
According to Wikipedia, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Halloween_Tree , "On October 31, 2007, Ray Bradbury attended the presentation of a Halloween Tree at Disneyland in California, to be included as part of its annual park-wide Halloween decorations every year. The Halloween Tree at Disneyland pays homage to Bradbury's novel by the same name, and is located in Frontierland across from the Shooting Gallery and next to the boardwalk outside the mercantile shops. Actually, Ray Bradbury and Walt Disney were good friends, and Bradbury collaborated with Walt on may of the original Tomorrowland attractions...."
