Douglas County Courthouse (Roseburg, Oregon)

The oldest central portion of this courthouse was designed by the northwestern architectural firm Tourtellotte and Hummel under the supervision of John E. Runyan. Elmer R. Metzger constructed it in 1928-29. In 1955-56 side addition were added on the southeast and northwest sides of the building. Those side additions were designed by architect Lyle F. Glenn.

 

In 1978 a judicial center was constructed to the rear of the building under the designs of the architectural firm of Wolff, Zimmer, Gunsul, and Frasca.

 

This structure is a contributing property to the Roseburg Downtown Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.
