Old Honolulu County Courthouse and Police Station (Honolulu, Hawaiʻi)
This Spanish Revival structure stands at 842 Bethel Street and features minor Art Deco elements. It was built in 1930-31 using Waiʻanae sandstone and French marble based on the designs of architect Louis E. Davis. It originally housed the Honolulu Police Station and the Honolulu County Courthouse. The police station vacated the premises in 1967, and the county courts moved out in 1983. The structure is now a private office known as the Walter Murray Gibson Building.
The courthouse that preceded this facility was the Aliʻiōlani Hale, and the building that replaced this structure as the courthouse is the Kaahumanu Hale.
It is a contributing property to the Merchant Street Historic District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
