Vermillion County Courthouse (Newport, Indiana)

H. L. Fillinger of Dana, Indiana and John B. Bayard of Vincennes, Indiana designed this courthouse built in 1926. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

Newport is a small county seat located in western Indiana. Vermillion County, which is spelled with two "L"s, is a thin strip of land along the state line just to the southeast of Vermilion County, Illinois (which only has one "L").
