Northern Lights from So. Calif. A very unusual phenomenon here
I drove up to Saddleback Butte State Park off the 138 in Lancaster, CA with my friend Brenda tonight to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights. We got there about 11:30pm and stayed until 1am. I captured these photos, but I must confess, to the naked eye, it didn't look this vivid. We could see the horizon getting lighter and there was a green hue, but these photos had to be bumped up in PS to bring out exactly what we were seeing. I'm happy with my photos but the experience didn't wow me like I thought it would as it wasn't a vivid as I've seen in photos and in Hallmark movies. Maybe one day I get to experience the vibrant Aurora Borealis that I have in my mind, but it looks like I'm going to have to travel to a wonderful northern destination to see it.
