Matt with Mike's Flash

This shot was mostly taken on accident but when I looked at what happened and really analyzed it, I thought it was genius. The shot was taken at Fat Annie's in NYC.

First off, we're in a bar. We're sitting in a booth and there is one light behind me (orange colored), the lights from the ceiling (tungsten colored) and then when I was shooting this my friend Mike was shooting from his XSi. His flash went off and from my early photojournalism days I trained myself to fire at exactly the right time that other photographers fire in order to take advantage of their flash lighting (yes I've really trained myself to do that. Don't ask how, I was thrown into it.)

Either way, it came out beautifully with my Canon 5D Mk II turned up to ISO 3200 and my Canon 50mm F1.8 lens.
