Toa Jon Luja (My Bionicle Self-MOC)

• PLEASE NOTE: I know that there is a lot to read, but I would very much appreciate if you do so :)
Although a lot of it takes place in my Bionicle “story” (Never fully written) some of it is personal and metaphorically explains myself as a person / how I’ve changed over the years from childhood, adolescence (during high school), and into who I am now that I’m a “young adult” (I'm 26 Years old now, in 2023)
Obviously a lot of it is exaggerated for fiction, but understanding Luja might be an interesting way to know me, I guess. He is my Self-Moc for a reason, and there’s also a reason as to why he has been on a “hiatus”, same as I have IRL (Multiple times, actually !)
He needed to reflect on who he is, and figure out who/what he wants to become. If you do read everything, let me know! :) It honestly means quite a lot <3
BIOGRAPHY:
GENDER: Male
SPECIES / RACE: Le-Matoran
(As Geminias: Possessed Le-Matoran / DEMON)
ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Good
(As Geminias: Chaotic Evil - unless Luja takes control)
WEAPONS: Tornado Staff, Laser Crossbow, Retractable wrist-blades (Inspired by Assassin's Creed) , Lightning Scythe, Twin wind daggers (Matau hordika's weapons. Rarely uses them)
AS GEMINIAS: Natural Claws on hands and feet, Razor-Sharp wings and tail
IN JUNGLE FRENZY MODE (Non Cannon) : Jungle Daggers (orange) & Jungle whip
MASK: Miru, Mask of Levitation.
When transformed in his Gemini Demon form, it becomes "cursed" or "corrupted", granting him the user powers of mild telekinesis to whatever is in close proximity.

Sarcastic, Humours, A Pessimist, Generally Care-free and a little reckless / stubborn.
Takes a while for him to warm up to people and open-up / get along with.
-(During the Infinity Tablet’s Shadow Realm Dimension): Depressed, angry, leadership / responsible, guilt.

BACKSTORY:
*ON THE PLANET ZARL:
Jon Luja’s origins are unclear and generally unknown. He was born as a Le-Matoran on the planet Zarl and somehow had the powers of a “Demon” Nihak (Native “Alien” species from Zarl) within him (Think of Naruto, with the Kyuubi Fox Demon spirit within him )
Luja doesn’t recall his matoran life, but when he was turned into a Toa he felt as if he were “reborn” as a new being with a fresh start. He remembers this happening in an abandoned Nihak lab facility… however he has no idea why or how.
As a Toa, before the war / genocide by the evil organization known as D.A.T. (Destroy All Toa… I made this stuff up when I was a young teenager LOL) Luja stole a Toa “Power Suit” from his technologically-reliant village’s armoury and fled. He was only loyal to himself and his survival, living and wandering alone, aimlessly. With no friends at the time, he had hoped that a purpose would find him through a life of adventure. Once the war began and he witnessed innocent Matoran being caught in the cross-fire, he quickly realized that he needed to find some Toa to side with and help.
Luja eventually met Toa Rockal, Haku, Wulf, Phyra, and a few others. He had trouble getting along with his fellow toa, generally butting heads and clashing with the Werewolf Toa Wulf. However, Luja had an interest and respect for Toa Phyra, who is also Wulf’s girlfriend. Some claim his attitude and sarcasm was for attention, to mask his insecurities, or maybe he was simply an idiot.
When the team noticed he would get out of control with murderous intent on impulse in battle (thanks to the Demon within him, named Geminias), it was Toa Wulf that was quick to empathize and helped him learn to suppress and control the darkness within.
They eventually became great comrades and friends.
Eventually, the Toa defeated D.A.T. but their planet was mostly destroyed, becoming a post-apocalyptic wasteland. However, many Matoran villagers were generally ungrateful after being liberated; blaming the Toa for the chaos, destruction and peril that they faced during the war. The remaining Toa were outcast and abandoned the planet, travelling to Boto Magna (After The Great Spirit of Mata Nui was reawakened and the Evil Makuta Teridax was defeated)
*ON BOTO MAGNA & THE SHADOW REALM DIMENSION:
When Luja and his friends arrived in Boto Magna after fleeing the planet Zarl, he feared he wouldn’t fit in. Luja became obsessed with the idea of self-redemption in attempts of being accepted. Unknowingly to his friends, he had volunteered to go into the Infinity Tablet’s Shadow Realm Dimension alone on a “suicide mission” to defeat Makuta Teridax (who was using the dimension’s energy to regain his strength and power) and become a hero in the eyes of Boto Magna’s people.
Luja became depressed, angry, and was alone at first. This allowed Geminias (The Demon spirit within him) to easily gain control of Luja, turning him into an uncontrollable monster with a killer’s bloodlust for the Makuta. Eventually Luja found other Toa in the dimension, as well as his friends who were sent in to help him on his mission.
Here, Luja met a toa of water named Cara who gave him the nickname “Gemini Demon” and helped calm and repress his dark impulses. The harsh experience of the mission and time spent surviving together made them fall in love.
Luja learned to acquire Leadership-responsibilities, control, and maturity. He and his friends (New & Old) managed to finally (seemingly) bring an end to Makuta Teridax once and for all. Mata Nui himself found a way to create a portal to bring all the remaining survivors back to Boto Magna, and with Luja’s convincing - a granted “free pass” and chance of immunity of their crimes to the Makuta in the dimension who weren’t truly evil. They were given pardon and temporary forgiveness, and a shot at a fresh start and new life path…
BOTO MAGNA - PRESENT TIME:
Luja became a law enforcer & jailer for the Council of Toa, stopping and imprisoning criminals. He works closely with his coworker, Brutol. Luja is still with his girlfriend Cara (living with her, but often away) and occasionally in contact with his old friends (Wulf, Phyra, Airthos, Haku)
Luja’s whereabouts are currently unknown, but what is certain is that he is finally happy to be serving a purpose and helping the community of Matoran, Toa, Rahi, and other residents of Boto Magna.
BONUS FACTS:
If I ever am to make an update, it’s going to be a redesign to the waist.
A few people here on Flickr gave me that advice years ago and I forgot to apply and change it. His proportions look awkward when you focus there. 😅 IT’S SO tiny. 😂 Oh well… ♂️
