One of the first areas of Chicago to be designated a residential landmark district, these London-style rowhouses were built between 1900-1904 by developer Samuel Gross, who was responsible for several other real estate developments in the city. Sometimes called "A Street of Forty Doors," it is one block long and contains 40 small, single-family residences, with each house constructed Flickr: Explore!. There are 20 different exterior styles, featuring decorations like Doric and Ionic wood pilasters, Gothic arches and Palladian windows.
