Mount Pinatubo Crater Lake

All my life I have never seen a lake up close. Even during my road trips in the United States all I could see were just views from a distance or over bridges. The funny part is that Friday the 13th was actually the closest "experience" I had with a lake.

After the treacherous 2hour trek from the drop off point and a frustrating "Your Trek Starts Here" sign 1 hour and 45 mins later I was faced with this breathtaking view.

I finally had the opportunity to take a dip in an actual (read: REAL) lake.

Photography Notes: Time of day plays a factor. The sun was over our heads at close to noon. The grass and water was so bright I had to do a contrast and saturation adjustment here.

This is my first trek with my recently acquired 2nd hand Nikkor 12-24mm F4 DX lens. Before that I had to shield my camera from drizzles, splashes and occasional rain. Also, being a new lens, didn't have an ND and CPL filter with me.
