My Three Good, Full-figured Companions
My guitar and my ukes--always ready to share a tune, to give my brain a place to float and drift. Two months after my double knee replacement surgery, the physical therapist tells me I'm doing so well, there's no need for more therapy. Of course, there's lots of healing to do, but my musical companions have stood by me so far, and they'll be there tomorrow. I'm no musician, but I enjoy playing, and when other troubles and pains weigh heavy on the soul, just strumming these good amigas is like a walk in the park. From left to right, they are my Martin guitar, my Kaloha concert ukelele, and my Kamaka soprano uke. Being laid up wasn't so bad with their companionship, and there are some excellent ukelele players on youtube, who generously share their skills with beginners like me.
Somebody pointed out to me that my laptop has a camera, and I could post videos to youtube as well.
Like a caveman trying to figure out fire, I made a run at it, and when it started recording, I had no idea what was going on, but I did a little test, just to check tone quality, color balances, and the like.
The curious among you can take a peek, but the best thing about a visit would be the quality players that are listed among my favorites--where you can hear some real music and enjoy some talent that you may not have enjoyed before.
