Far Far Away

I've photographed DIsney castles plenty of times, but this was my first time with a parody of a Disney castle!

 

I would say that the Far Far Away Castle is the icon of Universal Studios Singapore. It is the visual weenie that you see when approaching the park, and is also visible from many locations throughout the park. Unlike the Disney castles, however, the main intent of this castle is to house the Shrek 4D Adventure. So, instead of a moat and beautiful tress surrounding the castle, there is a large sign for the attraction and the beginning of switchbacks for the queue.

 

Ultimately, I deiced on this composition because many of the others I tried looked too much like a snapshot. There is a straight on composition with a fountain in the foreground that I would have liked to have tried, but that fountain is a very popular place for people to have their photo taken (think Partners). Since we were on a time budget, I'll have to save that one for another visit!
