Guilin Tea Science and Research Institute is the key institute of Guangxi. It was founded in 1965, the area of the whole plantation contains about 42 hectares, and it owns 250 different tea plants.
It was the royal tea garden in Ming Dynasty 400 years ago. The soil is fertile and rich in trace element. The tea had been paid to imperial court as tribute with its top quality and health protecting effects for a very long time in the history of China.
The institute keeps over 300 kinds of tea seed genes for 5 provinces of southwestern China. And it is the first organic tea garden in Guangxi. Most of the tea productions here are made with traditional hand-manufacture; they are natural health tea drinks, and very popular at home and abroad.
All the tea sold in Guilin tea institute are picked by hand, there are 150 workers working in the fields everyday in the harvesting time. We produce around 42 tons tea in a year, and more than 90% of them are sent to the local government, just leave about 10 percent of them in our institute which sold to local Guilin citizens. Guilin Tea Research Institute is the largest tea producing centre in Guangxi area, which combined with tea science researching/tea growing/ tea processing and tea tasting, and to take training a lot of tea farmers around how to grow high quality tea as a purpose. All the tea produced in Guilin Tea Research Institute are certified and sticked with a "quality safe" label.
