After a game of noughts & crosses

Europe, Portugal, Algarve, Sotavento, Tavira, CP DMU (UDD) 450 train, Graffiti, (slightly cut)

Back to the Sotavento travelogue.

.

A diesel multiple unit (a 'UDD'in CP parlance) of the 0450 series, the mainstay of the Linha do Algarve (the Faro-VRSA service) passing a railway crossing after leaving Tavira station.

The series was built in 1965 and 1966 (then the 400 series) and renovated in 1999, both by SOREFAME. They’re equipped with two 14 L 6 cylinder Cummins NTA 855 - R3 engines (Total output: 2 x350 kW)

It seems that the Linha Algarve UDD fleet is nowadays parked outside and/ or in an unguarded spot - this year the graffiti seems to be particularly intense.

This is number 35 of the graffiti / street art album.
