AMISOM Djiboutian Contingent in Belet Weyne 11
A soldier serving with the Djiboutian contingent of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) talks whilst out on an early morning foot patrol, to a woman as she rides her donkey-drawn cart towards the central Somali town of Belet Weyne in the Hiraan region of Somalia, approx. 300km north west of the capital Mogadishu, 18 November 2012. AMSIOM troops have been this week begun increasing their forces in Belet Weyne since first deploying there in September after the town liberated from Al-Qaeda-affiliated extremist group Al Shabaab in December 2011 by a combined force of the Ethiopian Army and Somali government forces.
