***My doll is wearing 2001 Kelly Club Kelly and Tommy Fashions #47608.
PERSONAL FUN FACT: It seems like the past few years I have been finding several of the post 2005 Kelly dolls who use the "anime" face (at least that's how I think of them). While I was initially not too interested in the newer facial screening, I've really grown to love it. In fact, I think part of me likes it more than the early 2000s face I was obsessed with as a little girl (I really love cartoony looking dolls). Of course I've gone back and forth on my preference--it honestly depends on which dolls I'm having luck finding at the current time. My sister and I were both convinced this doll was a Jenny. Poor Colleen spent FOREVER trying to identify her on the Lil' Friends website with no success. Fortunately, she eventually realized who Kayla was when she stumbled upon a picture of the five pack. Kayla was not an Asian character back when I was collecting Kelly as a kid. So that's what threw us both off when trying to identify this doll. Ever since acquiring little Kayla though, I now know to always check Asian dolls from this era against Kayla dollies. The doll featured in the photo was my very first Kayla doll like this, and dare I say, she's become my favorite 2004/2005 Kelly character by far! I mean Playground Bunch Kayla might be the most adorable Kelly doll ever made! I got this lady in 2014, from the "Kelly bin." I was very excited to find a lot of mostly all Kelly dolls, clothes, and playset scraps that fall. I got a few of the other School Bunch dolls from said bin too (but Kayla might be my favorite).
