Tai-yo Fancy Lightmeat canned tuna

Whoa, everything is unclear about this can and brand! The cheapest tuna in the rack at 1 euro (too cheap!) has no origin*, no latin name of tuna and no info. *Does note caught in FAO areas: 51, 57, 61, 67, 71, 77, 81 and 87.

More about FAO fishing areas: www.fao.org/fishery/area/search/en.

Tai-yo turns out to be a subsidary of Maruha-Nichiro from Japan, but the Tai-yo brand has lost it's U.S. trademark sometime ago. Maruhu's latest news on the homepage is from 2008! after a deal couldn't get closed after the closure of a Icelandic bank.

Lots of non-information shrouding this brand, but their company's corporate identity is: Our core identity is FISH!

Tai-yo or Maruhu is diversifying which means they'll can anything they'll get their hands on. This can was produced in Thailand and has serial: MNNIUU ALNNBJI 3LBAL.

It's imported by Gloe & Co B.V. in the Netherlands who has a website 'under construction'. Not a good brand to support and buy it seems.
