Israel-04778 - Mahmadiyya Mosque Entrance

PLEASE, NO invitations or self promotions, THEY WILL BE DELETED. My photos are FREE to use, just give me credit and it would be nice if you let me know, thanks.

When I was walking around by myself I saw the door and there was a sign "No Entry", I didn't have my glasses on.

Mahmadiyya Mosque is the largest and most significant mosque in Jaffa. It is composed of a complex of buildings arranged around two large courtyards and a third, smaller courtyard. The buildings, gates and courtyards were built at different stages throughout the 18th and 19th centuries while Southern Syria was under Ottoman rule.

Initially built in 1730, but most what what we see is from 1812.

An inner courtyard surrounded by pillars with arches between them. The large courtyard leads to the mosque structures including the hexagonal minaret and the large prayer hall.
