Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway 2018
by alts1985
Welcome to a selection of pictures I have taken of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway in 2018. The line runs for 3.2 miles from Haverthwaite through Newby Bridge to Lakeside, part of the former Furness Railway branch line from Ulverston. The line was built to connect with boat services on Windermere to Bowness and Ambleside.
Having first visited in August 2014 during our honeymoon in the Lake District when we used the line to travel to Lakeside Aquarium taking advantage of joint ticketing we returned this year to do the same thing again, except this time with my wife's parents and our two year old son with us! We visited on Tuesday 2nd October 2018 and Hunslett no.3698 ‘Repulse’ was in charge of the service trains.
