Reid C. Thompson, M.D.
Reid C. Thompson, M.D. is the chairman of neurological surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Thompson received his M.D. at Johns Hopkins, trained further at Stanford and later joined the faculty at the University of California, Irvine and the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. His research focuses on detecting brain tumor cells using agents that cause cancer cells to glow. He also works with the Vanderbilt engineering department to develop new surgical instruments.
