The Bishop's Eye, Lincoln Cathedral, England
Created in the 1330s. The Bishop's Eye is one of the greatest stained glass artworks in the world. Words or pictures do not do justice to its jewel-like appearance in real-life, or to the magical, warm light glowing from it on a sunny day. The giant rose window stands in the south transept of Lincoln Cathedral and its design shows no scenes. Each small section contains jumbled-up glass recovered from a previous window, making this perhaps the most beautiful piece of recycling in history.
