Wikipedia page about J. A. Prestwich industries.

The company was founded in 1895 at 1 Lansdowne Road Tottenham N17. In 1911 it moved to a new plant at Tariff Road, Northumberland Park, Tottenham. They made precision engineering products including cinema projection equipment and petrol engines.

This speedway bike was built in Bruce Grove, Tottenham and used a J.A.P. engine. It was restored and donated to the museum by Bill Rust, a local resident and museum volunteer, to celebrate the centenary of Bruce Castle Museum in 2006. (information from cabinet display at Bruce Castle Museum.)
