Bruce Springsteen - Fenway Park (Explored)
Another shot from the first night at Fenway Park (8/14/12).
I was at the second show last night, if you follow Springsteen and saw the setlist, then you know it was a historic show. They played a number of songs from early in his career along with arrangements of others songs that have not been done since the late 70's. Throw in some of his more popular "summer hits" as he calls them, steady rain for the entire second half of the show and end it with a guest spot from Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys and you have an incredible show. At one point Bruce even took a Fenway Frank and a beer from someone in the crowd and downed it while playing guitar at the same time and never missing a beat.
Normally during a Springsteen show, he will change up some songs on the spot. Last night there seemed to be no setlist at all. He was calling out each song as they were going and took about a dozen signs from the crowd to pick which song would be next.
He has averaged 3.5 hours both nights and only repeated 10 songs from the first night. With how expensive concerts have become, you definitely get your money's worth with him. The final show of this Boston area stand is Saturday at Gillette Stadium, I am not sure how he will top these last two nights but I can't wait to find out! :)
