Bêtises de Cambrai - apprentice confectioner Emile Afchain worked at his his parents in the city of Cambrai. He made a mistake in the manufacture of sweets. However, the candies sold very well and remained in demand as they were very refreshing. They were therefore given the name Bêtises and Emile Afchain was recognized as the inventor of the Bêtises de Cambrai. Boxes of this brand are still sold.
