Martin Luther Room, Wartburg
In this room of the historic Wartburg Castle, theologian Martin Luther translated the Bible's New Testament into German - an event that changed the course of religious history. The large whale vertebra between the chair and the desk is the only remaining object from the time of Luther's stay (1521-1522). It is said that he rested his feet on the bone to find inspiration while working.
