Lola

Lola died in her sleep last night.

 

These are the last photos I have of her. I figured I'd have another opportunity to get some which were actually in focus, but life had other plans.

 

When Robin and Adam found her, most of her fur was missing and she had an abominable funk due to a massive yeast infection in her skin.

 

She'd been abused and was therefore not very trusting of people, but a lot of patience and love brought her around.

 

She was a powerful dog but incredibly gentle with little kids and babies. (Although given her love for the baby swing, maybe she was just doing it as a trade-off so she could spend more time sleeping there.)

 

She didn't have the fastest processor on the planet. I remember one time I was petting her for a good two minutes before she realized I wasn't Robin, then she started growling at me. Fortunately I had a treat in my pocket, which mollified her.

 

Lola is a shining example of how a dog will forgive the abuses heaped upon it and come to be a loving member of the family.

 

Rest in peace, Lola.
